The new colossal furniture store, IKEA Centennial, has given Denver’s job market and economy a much needed shot in the arm since it’s opening this fall. Since opening, IKEA Denver has been responsible for creating over 400 new jobs to help fill positions in sales, merchandising, loss prevention, interior design, and many other positions – including those in the 550 seat restaurant.
“We are thrilled to offer interested jobseekers diverse positions with limitless opportunity at a global company,” said Kelly Frieze, store manager of the future IKEA Centennial. “At IKEA, we realize that the ability to do the things in life that bring success and happiness is extremely valuable to our coworkers. It also is as fun to work at IKEA as it is to shop at IKEA.”
In addition, with IKEA averaging around $32.6 billion dollars a year in revenue, the anticipated jump in sales tax revenues could be a great push for the Denver area. It’s not clear yet how the increased tax dollars will be spent by the government.
